We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Midwife to join our clinical trials team based at St Richards Hospital, Chichester as a Research Midwife. This exciting part-time 1year fixed term/secondment opportunity will provide the ideal opportunity to broaden clinical research experience and learn new skills.
As a valued member of the team you will help women access studies and change future NHS treatments and patients' lives for the better. This exciting position will provide the ideal opportunity to develop further clinical research experience and learn new skills.
Research experience is desirable but not essential as we would provide comprehensive training and support for the applicant.Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with our team of clinical research Midwifes and Nurses working on the Obstetric portfolio of studies.
The postinvolves providing midwifery care to women who participate in research, supporting them in their decision-making to participate in trials, strict protocol adherence, data collection, and organisation of relevant tests and procedures.
The post holder will also be responsible for promoting research within Trust departments and supporting colleagues and local investigators to deliver high quality research activity to support patient care. They will initially be supervised in their provision of the day to day management of an allocated portfolio of studies. This includes successful recruitment and retention of patients, strict protocol adherence, data collection, and organisation of relevant tests and procedures. The post holder will also be responsible for promoting research within Trust departments and providing high quality research activity with colleagues and local investigators to support patient care.
The post is for up to 30 hours per week.
