An Exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Lead Nurse for Primary Care in the Central IHC. This post will provide expert professional leadership for nurses working in General Practice across Central IHC (Conwy & Denbighshire). A key role will be the identification of learning and development needs for Practice Nurses and co-ordination of a programme of development alongside the promotion of a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence for the workforce. You will support the Head of Nursing in ensuring the highest standard of nursing care is provided, monitored and evaluated within primary care.

Main duties of the job

Provide clear clinical leadership and management support for practice nurses and nurse practitioners working in primary care helping them to ensure that they meet professional standards Provide formal and informal links with education providers to ensure organisations are responsive to service needs Provide advice and clinical leadership for role/service redesign, to support the implementation of the Health Boards Nursing and Midwifery Strategy, and the Area Operational Plan To support the Area in ensuring the highest standard of nursing care is provided, monitored and evaluated within primary care To promote effective communication with the clinical team within and across Localities, the Area and other agencies.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • Master's Degree or equivalant experience in nursing or health related subject or working towards with completion in three years
  • Significant relevant experience in a managerial experience
  • Teaching / assessing qualification or experience
  • Track record of significant continuous professional and management development
  • Leadership training or equivalent experience


Desirable

  • Post graduate management qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of Managing and leading a broad range of staff
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience in improving quality for patient staff and service

  • Meets all desirable criteria as per attached job description/person specification

Essential

  • Proven ability to analyse complex problems and to develop and successfully implement practical and workable solutions to address them
