The Deputy Research Development and Delivery Manager forms part of the Research Governanceand Delivery team who, as a collective, are responsible for the set-up, feasibility, performance anddelivery of the Clinical Research Portfolio across the organisation
Main duties of the job
A opportunity has arisen for an experienced person to join St Georges JRES on a fixed term basis as the Deputy Research Development and Delivery Manager. Working alongside a similar role, youwill be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the set up and facilitation team as well as leading a portfolio of research through set up , delivery & performance management . Providing support in assessing the resources and regulations required to deliver projects within and or by StGeorges by working with investigators, research teams and internal and external stakeholders. you will also support the monitoring and active performance management of research against our priorities and objectives, as well as horizon scan for new opportunities. The successful candidate should have experience in clinical healthcare R& D governance, have strong communication and organisational skills and be able to coordinate and manage a team effectively.They should be proactive and well-organised with the ability to multi-task and to work well as part of a busy department. They should be a self-starter and enjoy the challenge of making things happen in a fast-moving environment. Experience in working within the public healthcare sector and or Higher Education sector would be advantageous. Please note, this role is fixed term until the 31/08/2024 covering aspects of maternity.

For the purposes of study set up and ongoing project monitoring, establish and maintaineffective working relationships with all relevant organisations and individuals, includingkey service support departments To provide line management to the Research Governance and Facilitation Officers inJRES. To prioritise study set up activities to meet key objectives of the Trust strategy To ensure NIHR and DoHSC metrics associated with R& D delivery are met and maintained

- A post graduate degree/qualification or equivalent of a minimum of 5 years' experience within clinical research.

- Previous experience of research systems including (but not limited to) IRAS, EDGE
- Experiencing of managing/ supporting clinical trials
