Service/Ward/Department Summary:
- A vacancy has become available within our Whittaker Day Hospital - Mental Health Services for Older People Etherow Building, Tameside Hospital.
Role Summary:
- To provide a nursing perspective within an MDT Team.
- To coordinate each day by prioritising patient need/risk issues through leadership skills and delegation and the team to address issues which arise
- Deliver therapeutic assessment and intervention through key worker process and closed therapeutic groups

- Coordinate for Day Unit
- Key worker responsibilities
- Effective risk assessment and implement risk management strategies
- Leadership/supervision of junior staff
- Lead patient reviews
- Monitor patients physical health
- Administer medication as and when required

- Understands CPA policy and the part that day hospital can play in keeping older people in community.

- At least one year post qualifying experience

- Need to demonstrate a true genuine interest in older people and be highly motivated to be involved in developing the services.
- Must be motivated to provide the best possible standards of support and motivation to the client group. Must have a positive view of ageing and the potential for older people with mental health problems to recover and/or manage their mental health in a meaningful way to them.

- Excellent communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to pass health screening process.
