We are looking for a passionate, driven and highly motivated individual who want to make a real difference at 8a matron level, in an amazing, dedicated CSU, the Urgent care CSU at Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust.
The post holder will help strengthen the existing 8a matron team at the LGI emergency department to allow for 7 day matron cover across both sides of the city. This will build on the existing leadership visibility across these departments and help support the CSU nursing workforce plan for the future, while also supporting our quality and safety agenda, and improving our patient pathways and experience while in our departments.

We are looking for a hardworking, visionary and ambitious leader, who have the experience of managing acute clinical areas and patient pathways. We are looking for individuals who have existing experience of improving and driving standards of care for our patients, improving quality and safety outcomes and can influence positively patient satisfaction. The applicants will be good role models, have operational experience at senior nursing level, and hold the ability to lead a team through challenging situations, and to nurture, grow and embrace positively our people priorities and CSU culture.

Job responsibilities
The jobholder will have overall responsibility for the management of nursing/associated staff and the management of nursing resources/budgets within the CSU or a part of it. The jobholder will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided within the wards and departments for which they are responsible and ensure the principles of clinical governance are implemented at a local level. The jobholder will work in partnership with the facilities department in ensuring high standards of hospital cleanliness is maintained, embracing the principles outlined in the Matrons charter.
The jobholder will be easily identifiable to patients, provide strong leadership through a visible presence and provide support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers. The jobholder will also support the implementation of the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), being a focal point for advice to patients and carers and local resolution of complaints.
