The Research and Development RM& G Manager will assist in promoting and facilitating the delivery of high quality R& D activity across Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) and will ensure that all research is conducted in full compliance with the relevant legislation and other statutory obligations and any subsequent amendments thereof.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work with the Director and Head of Research & Development and representatives from the Clinical Research Network: West Midlands (CRN:WM) to implement the Trust's R& D Plan and national policies and procedures. The postholder will have responsibility for the provision of research management support for both NIHR portfolio and non-portfolio studies. They will provide support in the promotion and expectations of research across the organisation.

- Significant experience of clinical or NHS research management at a senior level, to include particular experience in the approval, set up and conduct of clinical research studies
- Experience with managing budgets and research project finances
- Experience in line management of research-related staff
- Experience of both commercial and non-commercial research studies
- Proven project management abilities and experience in simultaneously managing multiple projects at various stages of development and across numerous Trust specialities
- Experience of developing and delivering training
- Experience of the practical application of EU legislation and guidance relating to research
Qualifications

- Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field

- Master level qualification, or equivalent experience in a related field, to provide specialist knowledge of research and research governance procedures and methodologies
