Looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to develop yourself professionally?
We are looking for an experienced clinician to join our Autism Diagnostic teams in Swindon. The successful candidate will support the Diagnostic Lead in the supervision of other practitioners, assessment and formulation of complex cases, and strategic work to support and develop the service.
Our staff choose to work here because it gives them the chance to focus and immerse themselves within the field of adult autism. Feedback from service users repeatedly tells us that we offer services, which can be life changing and are highly valued by the people we support. This makes our work truly rewarding.
The Team operates during office hours and is based in Swindon, a large town with a diverse population. We can offer flexible working hours (within our core business hours), including remote working. Equipment is provided to enable remote working.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will contribute to a range of activities. Primarily, to provide high quality complex diagnostic assessments for adults suspected of having autism spectrum disorder. Additionally, making a contribution to consultation and training to other professionals, supervision and reflective practice within the MDT along with research and service development of the service.
We carry out our assessments according to a NICE gold standard pathway, using tools such as the ADOS, ADI-R, CAT-Q, and DISCO. Applicants must have experience of undertaking diagnostic assessments for autism using existing NICE-recommended tools, as well as having a proven track record of contributing to the development and delivery of innovative, evidence-based initiatives to improve the quality of life of adults with autism.
