We have an exciting opportunity to join our ever-expanding stroke and neurology Physiotherapy team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. You will be passionate, motivated, and keen to develop your skills in the fields of stroke and neurology and will be supported by an extremely experienced and skilled senior team.
There are numerous opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills. We have a large 39-bedded HASU and ASU managing stroke patients, alongside a specialist multi-disciplinary team. The inpatient team also manages all acute neurology patients around our trust, picking patients up early in the Critical Care environment, and have the opportunity to work closely alongside the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Complex Rehabilitation. We have further inpatient opportunities, to include our stroke and neurological rehabilitation units at both West Park Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital. We also have an expanding community team as well to work within, supporting both stroke and neurology patients throughout their journey.

Main duties of the job
To provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients in the area of specialty and to participate in the senior rotation (as required) and the out of hours services.
Your role will be identifying, planning and providingspecialist assessment and treatment during each of the rotations. You need to be a confident, autonomous practitioner with high level communication skills, a flexible problem-solving approach, good clinical reasoning skills, and be efficient in your time and people management.
To supervise and educate student physiotherapists to a graduate standard, working with the Universities to ensure standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.
Applicants are required to participate in the respiratory on-call rota and support is provided to maintain competencies.
