We are excited to offer the opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic Band 6 Organisation Development Practitioner to work within the Culture, Leadership, Education and Organisation Development department based within North tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full time permanent post.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work with leaders across the Trust, and beyond, to deliver activity in line with the NHS People Plan that supports our commitment to engaging and developing staff which in turn, improves patient care. The post-holder will be actively involved in the whole employee life cycle from on-boarding to exiting the Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has the ability to engage, diagnose, analyse findings, generate options and build commitment to solutions. You will have excellent interpersonal skills which allow you to work with individuals and teams who may be in disharmony or distress. You will have a calm, centred and focused demeanour which supports effective outcomes.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for delivering aspects of The Culture Programme, Talent Management, Quality improvement, Appraisal, Leadership and Management The post-holder will promote learning and organisation development (OD) as an enabler of effective performance.

They will be responsible for running a number of OD Interventions, across the Trust. To this end, they will scope, design and deliver OD change management processes and interventions which support the Trusts vision to provide the best healthcare for everyone in our population and to include initiatives which foster a high performance culture, where valuing learning, continuous improvement and diversity are the norm.

Engage with the Care Groups to maximise the performance of teams through the use of diagnostic tools and through design and implementation of team-building solutions.

To support the Corporate Strategy with achieving its vision and objectives including leadership, cultural development and embedding the customer care framework.

The post-holder will have the ability to develop relationships with colleagues across the Trust using sound communications and engagement skills.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related discipline such as OD, Human Resources or other clinical discipline
  • Professional Qualification (such as CIPD) or equivalent post graduate experience in a specialist field related to Human Resources, OD, Quality Improvement or other clinical discipline
  • Evidence of continued personal and professional development


Desirable

  • Leadership qualification
  • Project management experience and/or qualification
  • Accredited mediator
  • Psychometric testing qualification such as Myers Briggs/Insights


Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience in a healthcare organisation in a role dealing with complex situations such as change management, design and delivery of programmes
  • Significant post qualification experience in service improvement or related topic.
  • Experience of working in a large, complex and political organisation and delivering OD/engagement interventions in this context.
  • Experience in design and delivery of specialist training sessions / programmes / interventions on people related areas and topics.
  • Ability to work with and influence different teams within very complex and sometimes conflicting situations.
  • Understanding of organisational culture on performance and productivity particularly management and leadership development.


Desirable

  • Experience of an acute hospital setting
  • Knowledge of current clinical issues and the changing landscape of the NHS.
  • Evidence of strategic workforce change and implementation within a complex environment.
