We are looking to recruit a 0.8 WTE Band 8a Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to provide clinical leadership and line management to a team of SLTs working across the tri-borough area (Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea & Hammersmith and Fulham).
The SLT team is integrated with a multidisciplinary team, and the post holder will be responsible for providing leadership across the wider team (for example, leading on the Early Supported Discharge Service Pathway) alongside Clinical Lead colleagues in Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an individual who is passionate, enthusiastic and highly motivated in providing excellent clinical care evidenced through goal setting and outcome measurement for people within their own homes. Interest and experience in innovation, quality improvement and effective use of resources is essential. You will be responsible for demonstrating effective leadership by setting monitoring and maintaining standards.

Job responsibilities
Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work ensure that work within professional standard and clinical guidelines Undertake uni-professional, multi-professional and highly specialist Speech & Language Therapy assessments using evidence-based practice and outcome measures, in a home, clinic setting, of clients referred to inner London CLCH Neuro Rehabilitation Services, Community Rehabilitation and In-patient Rehabilitation. Clients may have complex communication and swallowing impairments as a result of an acquired brain injury (ABI) including traumatic brain injury and Stroke, palliative care needs or long-term neurological conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinsons Disease and Spinal Cord Injury. To analyse complex technical specialist assessment information, provide differential diagnosis and implement appropriate multi-factorial management/therapy programmes, including safe and appropriate eating regimes following interpretation of video fluroscopy reports To analyse auditory, visual and kinaesthetic aspects of clients communication and to identify appropriate strategies to facilitate and enhance communicative effectiveness in the home, work and other relevant settings

Essential
- Diploma or degree in Speech & Language Therapy and License to Practise from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Current HCPC registration
- Completed dysphagia training course to at least Intermediate level
- Evidence of CPD relevant to the treatment of people with neurological disabilities. Up to date CPD portfolio
- Training in appraisal / supervision
- Postgraduate qualification in SLT, rehabilitation or other neuro-related topic
Desirable
- Counselling skills training
- Membership of RCSLT Clinical Excellence Networks
- Completed dysphagia training course to at least Advance level
