An exciting opportunity has become available for a Full-time Band 7 practitioner (qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Supervision) to join the CAMHS Mental Health Support Team, based in Slough.
The Slough Mental Health Support Team (MHST) provide assessments & short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people in Slough with mild to moderate mental health needs. Clinicians working for the Mental Health Support Team service will promote the emotional wellbeing & mental health of young people in educational settings in Schools. They will offer advice, information & support to young people and families, & consultation & training to professionals, as appropriate. You may provide outreach support to promote engagement, where needed. You will lead the Slough Mental Health Support Team & work closely with your Slough Getting Help Team (GHT) colleagues & the Slough MHST/Getting Help Team Lead to provide mental health consultations and advice to partner agencies, including the Slough Early Help team, Youth Offending Teams & CAMHS pathways.
This is an important post at the interface with education settings, partner agencies & specialist CAMHS. The Mental Health Support Team sits alongside the Getting Help Team in Slough. Operational management & clinical supervision will be provided within Berkshire Healthcare CAMHS.

Main duties of the job
- Clinical assessments for young people up to the age of 18 years, presenting with mild to moderate mental health problems
- Short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions (individual, group, family, as appropriate)
- To offer training, consultation and supervision to external agencies with regards to the mental health presentation of children and young people who are accessing the MHST.
- Ensuring liaison and joint working between the Getting Help / MHST and the locality Early Help Hub and specialist CAMHS services.
- Use of routine outcome measures to promote active participation from young people and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.

- Appropriate qualification as either a Clinical/Counselling/Educ ational Psychologist (Doctoral) level training and relevant UK Professional Registration (HCPC/BPS). oOr as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist (MA/MSc qualification with full registration as a Systemic Psychotherapist with UKCP) oOr appropriate qualification to be an existing CAMHS clinician at Band 7 for example, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Registered Nurse, CBT Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker.
- Supervision qualification, or willingness to undertake supervision training

- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field of mental health and able to demonstrate significant practice.
