Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) are seeking Level 3 Bank Healthcare Assistants for flexible working in our Early Intervention Community (EICT) and Community Nursing teams within Birmingham.
Both services operate 7 days per week - EICT from 0800 to 2200 and Community Nursing Service having both Day Teams (0800-1800) and Evening Teams (1800-2230)
Main duties of the job
The EICT role involves carrying out personal care, health care, social support and delivering rehabilitation programmes under the supervision of a registered professional, also working in partnership with patients, carers and other health and social care agencies to promote independence
EICT is part of a wider Early Intervention programme, which has delivered 77000 fewer acute bed days used, 19000 fewer non-acute bed days and people spending 11.5 fewer days in the system. The impact is �25.8million saved for Birmingham to reinvest in Health and Social Care developments.
You will be joining a team in one of the largest Health and Social Care transformations in the country, delivering high quality care to patients within their homes and/or other community settings, preventing avoidable hospital admissions and facilitating early hospital discharge
The Community Nursing Service involves working with a variety of disciplines in the multidisciplinary team to achieve best outcomes for patients to ensure independence and well being
You will carry out a variety of health care assistant duties as part of the patients holistic care of health needs, particularly in the areas of personal care, pressure area care, palliative care, wound management, diabetes and other long term conditions
This is as part of a team - under the guidance of registered nurses but also as an autonomous practitioner within the community this may include home visits or seeing patients in clinic settings
