This post is also offered as a developmental role for a Band 6 or could be appointed to Band 7.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and skilled Community Locality Team Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams of professionals in the North & East area within the DOPMH service.

We are looking for a team manager who will act as a strong clinical leader working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, to ensure that they are fully supported to work with patients with dementia and complex mental health care needs. It is an exciting time with ongoing service development and transformation.

Main duties of the job

  • Using your skills and experience you will support your colleagues in the delivery of high quality care.
  • You will provide supervision and ensure training is provided to the teams.
  • You will demonstrate leadership and engage in service development.
  • You will deliver high quality interventions.
  • You will be able to develop your own personal leadership and management style. This will enable you to grow professionally and personally working within the DOPMH Service.

Person Specification

Qualification/experience

Essential

  • Relevant professional qualification in mental health or Learning Disabilities.
  • Substantial post qualification experience.
  • Substantial experience working at a senior level in a community setting.
  • Working knowledge and experience of application of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation.


Skills

Essential

  • Proven leadership, and management skills.
  • Analytical skills in assessing both clinical and generic health and safety service risks and development of risk management plans.
  • Proven IT skills with application to practice.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge and application of KSF, workforce planning and management.
  • Knowledge and skills in specific therapeutic approaches which have applicability to community services.
