We are offering a 0.6wte Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist permanent role within our CAMHS Health and Justice Team. You will be based in the Youth Justice Teams in the West of Berkshire (West Berkshire, Reading and Wokingham). You will be an enthusiastic and experienced SALT, who is motivated, resilient, and flexible. You will be interested in the youth justice system and in supporting young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences and have found themselves in trouble with the police. You would join the Berkshire CAMHS Health and Justice team which is a multidisciplinary team that supports the mental health, physical health, and speech and language needs of the young people who are working on a statutory or voluntary basis within the six Berkshire Youth Justice Teams. You will be screening, assessing and offering interventions to young people as well as offering training and consultation to YOT staff.

Main duties of the job
- To provide Consultation and Advice to members of the YOT team in regard to young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCNs).
- To support YOT staff to screen all young people who come into YOTs for SLCNs.
- To provide SALT Assessments for any young people with SLCNs.
- To offer specific SLCN interventions where appropriate.
- Support YOTs to adapt their written material so that it is more accessible for young people with SLCNs.
- Engage in multi-agency and integrated working and processes.

- Minimum of 1.5 years' experience working with children

- Completion of post graduate education or training relevant to clinical role or post

- Experience of supervision and training of other band 5 therapists and other professionals
- Experience of diagnosing autism spectrum conditions
