Black Country NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a passionate, dynamic and inspirational individual, to lead on an in-patient functional older adult ward at Bloxwich Hospital in Walsall, as a Band 7 Ward Manager, on a permanent basis. This vacancy is open to RMN's and Allied Health Professionals with leadership and management experience.
The successful applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating the quality and management of nursing care within the team by providing clinical expertise to enhance the patient experience, whilst upholding the vision and values of the trust. The post holder will be able to adapt to meeting the needs of the service through balancing therapeutic and risk considerations for current in-patients, but within the context of the wider service delivery and pathway. The successful candidate will also be a part of the exciting new building project which is underway, where Bloxwich staff and service users will re-locate to a brand new state of the art facility, based at the Dorothy Pattison site in Walsall.

Main duties of the job
- To be accountable for the direction of the ward effectively managing, motivating, and supervising the team, to ensure effective teamwork for consistent quality care delivery.
- Provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high quality care, that complies with current legislation and local policies.
- Manage the ward budget and resources effectively by ensuring appropriate staffing levels of skill mix and experience to manage the rota.
- Promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence based practice.
- Act as a visible role model, mentor and leader, creating a culture that promotes learning, development, inquiry and professionalism, celebrates achievements and shares learning for the benefit of the patient and ward staff.
- Participate in establishment and skill mix reviews by encouraging and promoting innovative ways of working that are supportive, and help achieve goals of the division and wider trust.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to drive quality improvements and innovation.
