To lead and manage the radiography workforce supporting the cardiac catheterisation laboratories at UHNM, this requires understanding complex facts which require analysis and a comparison of options. To take overarching responsibility for radiation safety and reporting including coordinating the servicing and maintenance of all radiation equipment and capital equipment required in the cath lab.
The post holder will lead in the operational management of the Cardiology imaging department working closely with the cath lab manager and directorate management team.
Using your in depth knowledge and experience of Cardiology, Radiology and management, the post holder will be expected to develop the cardiology service and imaging staff, to provide and meet the changing service needs including development of training and competency programs, acknowledging the needs of the radiographer, undergraduate student, apprentice and student workforce.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for planning and developing an imaging service that meets Cardiology Directorate and Trust Targets and to implement service changes, including the introduction of new equipment or the refresh of existing imaging systems.
The post-holder will take an active role in risk management and will be responsible for taking the lead in risk management and governance issues in Cardiac radiography. This will include the need to link in with multiple governance pathways in both Cardiology and Radiology.
