We are looking for an experienced and motivated Band 7 Specialist Occupational Therapist Clinical Lead to join our supportive, dynamic Manchester Community Response (MCR) Intermediate Care Unit in North Manchester. You will need to know and understand the Discharge Policy and the relevant components to support safe and timely discharges

The post will be based in our Intermediate Care Unit which is part of our Manchester Community Response Service which also includes the Crisis Response team, HomePathway, Reablement, Community IV team, Pharmacy and Social care.

This is an exciting time to be part of our integrated multi-disciplinary and multi-agency service providing rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

The main purpose of the role is to be the Occupational Therapy clinical lead for Crumpsall Vale, providing clinical leadership for therapy staff.You will be supporting team members to deliver on their objectives through offering advice, guidance and support as appropriate with the focus being on delivering a high quality and efficient intermediate care service, to patients of all complexity, in a bedded intermediate care unit, including some work in patients home setting.

You will act autonomously in the management of an adult caseload with a varying degree of rehabilitation complexity and project lead in Crumpsall Vale to ensure delivery of a high quality, evidence based intermediate care service.

You will supervise and support staff including band 5 and 6 Occupational Therapists by providing appraisals, supervision sessions and peer support and the training of junior staff including students.
