Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Band 6

Are you interested in continuing to develop and extend your skills in working with adults with a range of communication and swallowing disorders in various settings? Would you like to be part of a dynamic and evolving speech and language therapy service? Are you a committed, flexible therapist who is a good team player and dedicated to professional development and quality service delivery? Are you fully dysphagia trained and able to manage your caseload independently?

If so, the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service at BCUHB East is for you.

Main duties of the job

With our 'one team' approach, we have a range of opportunities for you to develop personally and professionally. There are sessions available working with inpatients on our acute hospital wards or in community with adults with learning difficulties, but we have the flexibility to create bespoke posts to meet our needs and yours.

There is a wide range of expertise and experience within the friendly and supportive BCUHB S& LT team. You will join a growing team of speech and language therapists and technical instructors and be supported by highly specialist band 7 S& LTs and our new Frailty lead. There is excellent peer support.

We have regular whole team meetings. Clinical supervision is actively encouraged and there are regular CPD events and training opportunities as you continue to develop and hone your clinical skills. There is access to regular therapist-led and MDT clinics including Videofluoroscopy and FEES, Joint Voice Clinics, Parkinson's Clinics and MND MDT meetings. There will be opportunities to participate in service improvements and MDT initiatives are encouraged.

We welcome informal visits to meet our team.
