We are looking for efficient, enthusiastic and highly motivated nurses with good interpersonal and communication skills to work in our respiratory directorate on ward A3. Ward A3 is an acute respiratory ward that provides care for a variety of acute and chronic respiratory patients including those diagnosed with neurological and neuromuscular conditions such as COPD, chest wall disease, ILD, Severe Asthma and Bronchiectasis.
Suitable candidates will have ambitions to develop their clinical skills and have a keen interest in the care and management of patients who require non-invasive ventilatory support as well as a variety of oxygen therapies.
We are seeking to appoint motivated, dynamic staff with an interest or background in respiratory/intensive care and/or general medicine. You must be able to demonstrate high quality compassionate care and be keen to develop professional skills such as the interpretation and taking of blood gases, venepuncture and cannulation and tracheostomy management.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of patient care in a caring, compassionate, and sensitive manner. Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.
