An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust (SaTH) on a 2 year fixed term/secondment contract, for an enthusiastic and energetic individual with excellent analytical skills to join the the Digital Team as a Business Change Analyst. This is an excellent time to join our team as we embark upon the delivery of a digital transformation roadmap across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

As a Business Change Analyst you will be responsible for the analysis and review of processes and systems, identifying where improvements and efficiencies can be gained, driving forward the Trust's digitalisation agenda of improvements and benefits realisation. Supporting the Business Change Lead in leading changes of culture, approach, systems and processes within the Trust.

The post holder will ideally have proven experience of change management, ideally in relation to clinical system implementation.

You will be highly capable of planning and prioritising work, managing competing demands & deadlines and you will have the enthusiasm and drive for results. You will be required to take a flexible and innovative approach combined with excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills to ensure that the application performs to the requirements of its users and clinicians.

Working as part of the Business Change team within the digital department you will work autonomously, within the boundaries of the role, as well as, importantly, being part of a team.

You will be supported by the wider digital team to deliver services designed around supporting end users and show an ability to learn and respond to demands in a fast-paced technical environment

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications


  • Educated to degree level and / or relevant experience in specialty


  • Recognised change management course or qualifications associated to the role
  • Recognised benefits management course
  • PRINCE 2 project management qualification



  • Experience of working in a large organisation with a wide range of staffing levels.
  • Comfortable with liaising at all levels from administrative staff to senior managers.
  • Experience of business process analysis, using inquisitive and exploratory approaches
  • Experience of gap and operational impact analytics, and problem solving approaches
  • Familiarity with business process analysis techniques and methods
  • Experience of business change identifying benefits, solutions and new ways of working and complex business analysis.
  • Experience of process mapping and process re-design.
  • Experience of working and liaising with Third Party Suppliers.
  • Strong experience in influencing the application of IT to working practices.


  • Experience of working with a range of staffing groups including clinicians, nursing and managers.
  • Experience of supporting an IM& T implementation.
  • Experience of user requirements' gathering methodologies
  • NHS organization experience
  • Political awareness



  • High level of interpersonal skills, including active listening and understanding, use of simple & non-technical language with users.
  • Experienced in building effective and sustained relationships
  • Excellent communication, presentation and demonstration skills
  • Knowledge and experience of change management strategies
  • Influencing, motivation and negotiation skills
