Band 5-6 Development Post in Acute Care for Registered Mental Health Nurses
Are you an ambitious, recently qualified or about to qualify nurse looking for a role to develop your career from a newly qualified Staff Nurse (Band 5) to a band 6 Charge Nurse?
We are looking for newly registered nurses or current Band 5 nurses, who are looking for a challenge and the opportunity to work alongside individuals in a compassionate person-led way.
If you enjoy the opportunity to support some of the most vulnerable people we care for, whilst being supported to develop and enhance your nursing skills, this may be the job for you.
We want to help, support and nurture you with the right skills to become a confident nurse and leader in our acute hospital environment. This opportunity really suits those band 5 or newly registered nurses who are interested in solidifying their skills, and experiencing different wards and their processes.
If you are aspiring for a Band 6 post in urgent care services in the future, this development post will give you the right level of broad experience and exposure required.
Main duties of the job
This exciting development post will be split into three rotations during which time you will work on both working age acute wards (Maple and Rowan) and our older persons acute ward (Larch). There will also be opportunities to spend time in our other Urgent Care Pathway services, including Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS) at Worthing General Hospital, the Haven, and the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT.)
You will be supported by our Professional Nurse Educator (PNE) to work through a competency framework, along with regular supervision. You will also be supported to attend our Nursing Development Programme (NDP) to support your development.
Our wards are integral to our Urgent Care Pathway and ensure people presenting to acute mental health services receive a compassionate, person- centred assessment and timely care plan.
This post offers an incentive, or a Relocation package up to a maximum of 4000 (pro rata applies and subject to terms and conditions).
About us
Successful candidates will be supported throughout the rotation in the following ways:
