An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our friendly and supportive team of Practitioners as an Emergency (Nurse, Paramedic or Physiotherapy) Practitioner, within the Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) at our Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals. ( Please note, this is not a training role).
The Emergency departments now see in excess of 140,000 patients per annum including those in Urgent care, presenting with minor injuries and illnesses.
You will be joining well established and progressive team of enthusiastic Emergency Practitioners that provide 24 hours a day cover to the Urgent Treatment Centre, ensuring the safe, efficient and timely flow of patients through both departments. In addition to our strong nursing team we have an excellent GP, Emergency Medicine Consultant, Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Clinical Support worker teams that work closely with us in providing a patient centred service.
Main duties of the job
As a clinician within the Urgent Treatment Centres, the post holder will work and an independent, autonomous practitioner providing high quality, evidence based, timely and patient centred care.
You will be responsible for utilising expert diagnostic and clinical skills to provide autonomous, unscheduled medical care and management of a diverse range of patients with acute undifferentiated and undiagnosed illnesses and injuries.

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
You will be expected to attend the Trusts Induction Programme for RNs,RMs and ODPs (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the programme lead if this is problematic:nicola.henthorn@nhs.net), It lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area and classroom-based study days which run from 9am to 5pm.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check atenhanced level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)

- NMC Registered General Nurse (1st level degree) or HCP Registered Paramedic/Physio with at least three years experience as an Emergency Practitioner
- Completion of Minor injuries and illness course
- Competent using PGD's
- Physical Assessment Qualification

- ALS/EPLS Qualification

Experience and Knowledge

- At least three years working in an Urgent Care setting as an Emergency Practitioner
- Demonstrates current clinical knowledge within Urgent Care
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance
