Royal Manchester Children's Hospital is part of a leading Trust for teaching, research and specialist services in the North West of England. A vacancy has arisen for a Band 5 physiotherapist to join our specialist team. You should have broad clinical, rotational postgraduate experience in the NHS or equivalent, this should include experience in both rehabilitation and respiratory environments. A degree in Physiotherapy and HCPC registration are essential.
This post would suit physiotherapists who have a strong desire to build on their existing foundation physiotherapy skills in acute paediatric physiotherapy, with training provided. Royal Manchester Children Hospital is a tertiary centre and as such the work is both varied and challenging.
You will be required to support the respiratory on-call and weekend/Bank Holiday service following the completion of competency training.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate complex clinical reasoning based on evidenced based practice. They should also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills within highly sensitive situations and complex MDT working. There is the opportunity to work across several paediatric specialties that includes respiratory care, orthopaedics, MSK, neurology, rheumatology including chronic pain, burns and oncology. The department has state of the art facilities that include a hydrotherapy pool.There is support through an appraisal system and training programmes and the department is involved in a number of research projects.

- Recognised BSC Honours degree in physiotherapy or equivalent
- State registration via Health Professions Council

- Broad postgraduate clinical experience in a rotational post in the NHS in both a rehab and respiratory capacity
- Knowledge of physiotherapy assessment and treatment techniques, including examples of reasoning for choice
