As one the largest Cardiology centers in the Northwest, we undertake progressive initiatives in diagnostic and interventional cardiology. As a team we are committed to providing a gold standard of care to all our patients, focusing on a progressive and forward thinking approach to achieve this. Oxford Roadsitewill have 3 new catheter labs main hub Wythenshawe Hospital has 5 catheter labs, a cardiac transplant biopsy suite, and a 6th Hybrid Catheter lab.

We are looking for an enthusiastic radiographer keen to develop their role as a Cardiac Radiographer in terms leadership and management as well as their clinical knowledge. The role will be based at the Oxford site, with collaboration with the WTWA site for single service integration. There will be the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills to undertake various procedures performed in Cardiology and develop your management and leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

The Catheter Laboratory suite forms part of the North West Regional Cardiology service. It is one of the busiest in the country. We provide a busy 24/7 Primary Angioplasty Service covering the Greater Manchester geographical area.

We are one of the leading centers and cover the whole portfolio of procedures including angiography, angioplasty, CTO, TAVI, and complex pacing.

The catheter labs are run by a close-knit team of doctors, radiographers, nurses and cardiac physiologists. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment is a must. The radiographic team is essential to all cases and particularly relied-upon to advise junior cardiologists with regard to preferred projections and radiation safety. Radiographers are also involved in the performance of adjunct imaging such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT). Participation in the 24/7 out of hours, non- residential on-call service in each area is a must.

The successful candidate would be expected to take a lead on education and development. Collaboration with WTWA is a must. Assisting other Band 7's in RPS duties, Governance, Health and Safety and Equipment Maintenance will be required.
