Aortic valve Clinical Nurse Specialist -
37.5 hours
6 month fixed Term initially with a potential for a permanent position
The Heart Centre at the University Hospital of North Midlands is a tertiary Centre delivering high quality Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and an inpatient / outpatient Heart failure service to the population of Staffordshire, Shropshire, East Cheshire and North Wales.
We have a very exciting opportunity for an innovative post to support our single access point for aortic valve patients. We are looking for a dynamic nurse who is passionate about providing holistic care and support to patients requiring Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). The role will involve working across acute in-patient and out-patient settings at the Royal Stoke Site supporting our interventional Cardiology team that are undertaking TAVI procedures.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to assist with the coordination and facilitation of the single point of access for aortic valve patients. Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) / surgical aortic valve (SAVR) service at UHNM in line with local and national guidelines.
In addition the post holder is expected to assist with the co-ordination, data collection and administration of the TAVI service & to also co-ordinate the transfer & supervision of the inpatient care of TAVI patients in the Cath Labs & within the wards. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will participate in the development of education, training & clinical supervision of other staff & students.
