Are you a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist who would like to work as part of a small, friendly team of autonomous practitioners?
You would be visiting patients in their own homes to use Occupational Therapy skills in moving and handling, seating and positioning to assess and support with diverse complex physical health needs.
The role includes the need for travel in areas of beautiful Dorset.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapists with the highly developed skills and experience to assess patients with severely complex physical needs, who are also in receipt of Continuing Healthcare funding.The role involves undertaking assessments for patients within their home environment, with a variety of complex physical health needs, Learning Disabilities and Challenging behaviours and involves self-directed, autonomous work with patients, families and carers. Assessments will include complex moving and handling, seating and positioning ordering, supplying and reviewing specialist bespoke equipment to meet needs, being mindful of responsible use of resources. The role requires the ability to respond to changing needs and demand in supporting a caseload of patients with complex needs.
There are full and part time roles available.
The successful applicant would work as part of a small dynamic and supportive team who work across Dorset, working closely with the NHS Dorset Continuing Healthcare Team as well as Dorset Healthcare community teams and Local Authority partners.

- Registered practitioner to degree/diploma level supplemented by minimum PG dip (120 credits) plus MA/MSc or working towards in a relevant subject or demonstrable extensive experience in the relevant specialty
