We are seeking a dedicated and motivated midwife to become the Lead for Diet, Nutrition and Weight Management in pregnancy. Working collaboratively with the Senior Lead Midwife for NHS Public Health and Consultant Midwife to promote safety, choice and engagement with care providers.

Main duties of the job
If successful you will help maternity staff to directly support pregnant women and birthing people through their journey to improve outcomes for service users and their families. This will involve using unbiased information to allow our pregnant population to make safer choices in developing their personalised care plans.
The overarching goal of this role will be to reduce health inequalities through working to improve pregnant peoples Knowledge of maintaining a healthy diet in the ante natal period.
Be responsible for providing specialist advice and support related to public health, providing professional leadership to service users and colleagues. This will involve the identification of training needs, development of training programmes and the delivery of these programmes to all staff in contact with service users and their families.

Job responsibilities
If you are the successful candidate you will:
- Promote professional leadership and clinical excellence working in collaboration with the appropriate multi-disciplinary systemwide groups to meet the specific needs of service users and their families.
- Monitor and evaluate the service in relation to public health issues, identifying areas for service improvement and developing strategies to address this.
- A clinical focus, with the emphasis on improving outcomes for service users and families from areas of deprivation across the local maternity population.
- Support staff in developing their clinical competence and knowledge of Public Health issues in particular the impact of healthy eating on pregnant women and their babies.
- Review clinical data, analyse trends and report on any clinical implication identified
- Undertakes surveys or audits, as necessary to own work
