We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative dietitian with substantial post registration experience and an interest in Gastroenterology to step into a lead role for the Gastro dietitians based across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board
Gastroenterology inpatient beds are located at the Grange University Hospital but as this post holder will also be leading the outpatient dietetic service for these patients, the base will be considered as either GUH or one of our three Enhanced Local General Hospitals in Gwent.
Whilst this post has been advertised as full time, applications from those wishing to job share or work reduced hours will be considered.
Main duties of the job
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY ANEURIN BEVAN UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD.
As the successful post holder you will provide leadership and clinical guidance to the team of band 6, and rotational band 5 dietitians working within the Gastro speciality. In addition you will work as part of the MDT to cover a clinical role, providing dietetic care to Gastro patients matched to your existing experience and advise / educate staff within the wider dietetic service on Gastroenterology related practice..
This post will sit within the team of dietitians providing a service within the acute setting in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.You will be a member of the Adult Senior Team and have the support of band 7 colleagues working from the other 3 acute sites. Your development needs will be supported by the Professional Manager and Deputy Head of Service.
We are a team of 30 dietitians working from 4 main hospital bases (GUH, RGH, NHH and YYF), across the specialities of Nutrition Support, Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Stroke, Oncology and Diabetes and have the support of a team of 9 dietetic support staff and 5 ward based nutrition assistants. We value both staff and service development and actively participate in the dietetic student training programme for Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- BSC / MSc / PGDip Dietetics
- Dietetic Clinical Educators Course
Desirable
- Advanced Educators Course
- ILM level 3 or equivalent leadership training
- 60 credits at MSC level in relevant modules
Experience

- Has experience providing clinical supervision
- Experience providing Dietetic cover in the inpatient setting
- Experience working as part of an inpatient MDT including other therapy services
- Experience providing dietetic care to patients with Gastro conditions.
