An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical psychologist to lead the Paediatric Psychology service at the West Middlesex University Hospital (WMUH). The post holder would supervise the work of the 8a psychologist for paediatric diabetes, develop the paediatric psychology service within the hospital, accept general paediatric referrals, and provide support to the families and staff of babies inpatient on the special care baby unit. Doctoral trainee placements are also provided to the North London Clinical Psychology courses. You will receive supervision and support from the Head of the CNWL Paediatric Psychology service.
Within this wider CNWL Paediatric Psychology Service there are regular opportunities to link with the psychologists working across other sites both informally and formally for CPD and peer support. The CNWL Paediatric Psychology Service meets monthly for business, journal and research presentations, as well as clinical and skill sharing.

West Middlesex University Hospital (WMUH) is a large teaching hospital offering secondary and tertiary level medical services to an ethnically and socio-economically diverse population. Clinical Psychology services are provided to Paediatric Outpatients, the Paediatric Diabetes Service, and the Special Care Baby Unit. WMUH is a part of the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

- To work closely with the clinical managers and team administrators to ensure there are efficient administrative systems in place to effectively manage referrals, waiting lists, and recording of clinical activity, relating to C& YP Health conditions.
- To carry out necessary audit, policy- and service- development, service user participation, and research activities within the service to ensure the delivery of a reflexive, high quality and financially efficient service for C& YP with health conditions, with a sound basis in evidence-based treatment, positive service-user outcomes and best clinical practice.
- To contribute significantly to service development and to lead on innovation and evaluation of services for C& YP with health conditions,

- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS. (1) Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) accredited as a clinical psychologist. (1)

- Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist for a significant period, including significant post qualification experience within a Paediatric Psychology service.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, in-patient and residential care settings including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
- Experience of liaising with services relevant to CYP, including schools, LA Child and Family Services, and NHS Child development Services
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for children and young people' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and also within the context of a multi-disciplinary care plan.
