An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Dental Technician to join the department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) and Orthodontics and the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Bath.
The post holder will be expected to construct a full range of removable orthodontic appliances and dental laboratory work. This work will be carried out to prescriptions from clinicians within the OMFS and Orthodontic department. The post holder will also be expected to develop skills in the application of digital workflows and additive manufacturing techniques.
You will assist the Dental Laboratory Manager and senior staff members in their duties wherever possible, ensuring that services are delivered effectively in the interests of patient care. The post holder will be expected to maintain continued professional development and a personal development plan in line with General Dental Council guidelines.
The laboratory values the professional development of people and career progression opportunities will be available.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to construct a full range of removable orthodontic appliances and dental laboratory work. This work will be carried out to prescriptions from clinicians within the Oral & Facial and Orthodontic Laboratory.
Undertake administrative duties, including dealing with patient enquires and record keeping. Develop skills in areas of digital technology and maintain continued professional development.
To provide general support to the Dental Laboratory Manager, ensuring in particular that services are delivered effectively in the interests of patient care.
