The successful candidate will be required to complete the Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship. You will be employed on a 15 month fixed term contract for 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 GCSE's grade 3/D or above including Maths and English or equivalent.

Main duties of the job
As an Apprentice Information Officer we will train you to use a number of tools to extract and automate data sets from a number of different sources. You will interpret this information and produce reports that convey their meaning easily to the recipient. By adding value to the raw data you will be helping to empower the workforce by putting the right information in front of the right people, at the right time. We see this role as an entry point into the world of Business Intelligence and healthcare. The role will build the successful applicants skills in SQL, Excel and other reporting tools.
The successful candidate will be able to prioritise their own workload and use their initiative to achieve specific deadlines, whilst working as a member of a team with its own priorities and deadlines.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be invited to apply for a permanent Band 4 position with the team.

- spend at least 50% of their working hours in England over the duration of the apprenticeship

Job description
Job responsibilities
The apprenticeship will see the successful candidate working towards the following:
- Directly support the operational teams in their monitoring and provision of accurate, timely and relevant management information related to key performance targets.
- Assist in the maintenance of the Trusts Information Systems and provide appropriate reports to the organisation i.e. waiting times, activity and key performance indicators.
- Collect and quality assure data within the Trusts Information systems.
- Carry out basic data analysis and subsequently produce charts, tables and reports for viewing and use by the staff across the Trust.
- Assist with / produce regular reports for the Trust and external organisations on the progress against local and national key performance indicators.
- Function in a support role on project teams tackling projects such as RTT performance.
- Monitor the IS Inbox, dealing with queries, escalating issues and logging requests on the IS Planner.
- Carry out any other duties at the request of the Head of Analytics.

- Good general level of education including a minimum of 4 GCSE's or equivalent including English & Mathematics
- Willingness to complete the Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship

- Recognised Professional IM& T qualification or working towards.

- Previous experience of Microsoft Excel or similar software
