We are inviting applications from ambitious, exceptional Registered Nurses with strong leadership & managerial skills to join CUH as a Divisional Head of Nursing for Division B, supporting the chief nurse delivering on our strategy.
With 2900 members of staff Division B is the largest Division within the Trust operating across a number of key services including Cancer, Pathology, Genomics and Imaging, Outpatients, Pharmacy, Therapies & Dietetics, Medical Physics, Radiation Protection and Clinical Engineering. It's an exciting time to be joining the team as we prepare for the building of our new Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital as well as key moves for Pathology and Clinical Support Services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will line manage senior nurses within our Division, including the Deputy Head of Nursing. You will provide strategic and operational leadership, expertly managing professional issues, developing teams and ensuring we have the right staff with the right skills across all our services.
As a member of the Triumvirate you will support the Division in achieving excellence in patient safety, patient experience and clinical governance. As a member of the Trust's Senior Nurse Leadership Team you will be setting nursing priorities and contributing to strategic nursing discussions as well as leading on delegated aspects within the Chief Nurse's portfolio.
You must able to demonstrate a proven track record of inspirational leadership and development. You will be self-motivated with the passion, drive and the adaptability needed to be able to respond to continuously changing services and priorities and serve as a Role Model. You will have a proven track record of facilitating your teams to deliver high quality patient care and patient outcomes.
You will have excellent communication skills, be visible and accessible with high quality outcomes as your priority. You will need to be flexible and resilient in order to cope with the demands of the role. In addition you must be able to influence and negotiate in order to deliver our plans. Evidence of continuing professional development is essential.
