A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time, Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Bone Marrow Transplant Team within the Northern Centre for Cancer Care.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic around haematology nursing care and being a strong advocate for their patients. You will ideally have experience within Bone Marrow Transplant Nursing, ideally covering the planning, implementing and evaluating of care pathways for a varied and diverse group of patients with malignant and non-malignant Haematological Disease.
You will possess advanced communication skills as often you are the first point of contact for patients and families, providing practical, emotional support and expert advice on a regular basis.
Main duties of the job
You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Applicants with a background of haematology nursing and in possession or working towards non-medical prescribing and/or physical examination skills are encouraged to apply.
The applicant should have a good understanding of the JACIE regulations and the policies, procedures and governance that underpins the BMT services. They should also have experience of audit and research, be keen to undertake nurse led clinics and have experience of supporting and developing junior members of staff via education, experience and CPD
