Are you looking to join a dynamic, forward thinking department and expand your clinical and non-clinical skills? We have a fantastic opportunity for you if you are looking to broaden your existing clinical knowledge within Neurology. Relevant NHS experience including basic rotations within medicine, neurology and musculoskeletal is essential.

We pride ourselves in supporting staff with good team and department structures and morale. We run specialist clinical training, and non-clinical training. We have students on placement in specialties across the department. We also have superb working relationships with our Consultants and Multidisciplinary Teams across both inpatients and outpatients.

Main duties of the job

The team provides a 7 day service across inpatient Stroke, Neurology, Neurology Outpatients and Neuro-oncology clinics.

This post is a part time, substantive contract to cover 18.75 hours per week, the days and times can be set to suit your work life balance. Depending on your area of interest within neurology this could be an inpatient or outpatient role.

Our clinical staff are involved in Trust level clinical and non-clinical projects and have opportunities to drive service development, audit and evidence based practice.

Job responsibilities

To provide physiotherapy to relevant patients within clinical specialty area, in a range of settings including inpatients, outpatients and patient homes.

To assess and treat patients in relevant rotational area . To support the team in the organisation and provision of an efficient, high quality and co-ordinated physiotherapy service for patients in each area . To undertake a defined clinical caseload. To ensure that patient and service standards and priorities are met. To provide clinical supervision to assigned junior physiotherapists, technical instructors, physiotherapy assistants and students.

Essential

  • HCPC registration
  • BSc Physiotherapy


Desirable

  • Member of CSP
  • Member of Specific interest group
  • Post graduate qualifications in Neurology or Neurological Treatments


Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Previous Acute NHS experience at Band 5 level
  • Achieved core skills in all core Junior rotations, including specialty area/s
  • Evidence to support knowledge base in specialist area
  • Previous acute NHS experience


Desirable

  • Previous Senior Experience in Specialty Area
