Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust has a vibrant Radiographer led reporting service that covers multiple areas and is growing in scope.
The job advert is looking for a dynamic professional to join our excellent reporting team. the applicant should have a subspecialty interest in chest reporting though other areas may be considered.
DGT has developed a state of the art reporting hub that has been specifically designed for reporting clinicians with ergonomics and minimum disruptions for the optimal reporting environment.
DGT also has a well developed and mature home reporting strategy with equality between medical and non medical reporting groups.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for enthusiastic, specialist trained individuals with post qualification experience in reporting to join our friendly team.
With a view to expanding our service to a seven day working in reporting.
Radiology are looking for full or part-time staff. Flexible hours are expected working weekends and evenings as part of core hours.
The candidate must be flexible, dynamic and able to lead a team with a passion for teaching, continuous professional learning and quality improvement.
This post is based at Darent Valley Hospital which is a progressive and forward thinking Trust serving a growing local population of 340,000. Our hospital is a PFI hospital offering a modern, well equipped and pleasant environment positively supporting professional and personal development. Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust also provides imaging services at Queen Marys Sidcup, Erith and Gravesend. There may be a requirement for cross site rotation
We have an extensive range of modalities including DR, CT, MRI, ultrasound, breast imaging, nuclear medicine, bone densitometry, interventional and cardiac angiography and all aspects of general and fluoroscopic radiography.

Clinical responsibilities:
To take an advanced role in the activities of the Radiology department.
To use advanced clinical judgement to enable independent decision-making.
To perform a comprehensive range of radiographic procedures.
To independently interpret plain film radiographs in order to establish a diagnosis, influencing patient management and treatment.
To determine the need for additional examinations based on clinical presentation and image appearances.
To use advanced clinical judgement to enable independent decision-making.
To perform a comprehensive range of radiographic procedures.
To independently interpret plain film radiographs (in a timely fashion) in order to establish a diagnosis, provide information to inform better patient management and treatment.
To determine the need for additional examinations based on clinical presentation and image appearances.
To ensure that all patients are treated with consideration and care that is appropriate to their condition, using clinical judgment as to the optimum technique, selection of equipment and other parameters.
To administer contrast media orally or intravenously on an agreed basis.
Liaise with other staff to ensure the smooth running of the Radiology services.
To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999, the Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposures) Regulations 2000 and the departmental protocols for the implementation of IR(ME)R.
To abide by the Local Rules for radiation protection and the Operational and Safety Policy for MRI.
To take part in the provision of an out-of-hours service including night duties. To undertake reporting of plain film examinations during core hours and at weekends as part of the reporting team
To take part in the departments Quality Assurance programme, including regular testing of the Radiology equipment, and QA of the reporting service.
To be aware of the principles of clinical governance and ensure that working practices conform to these principles.
To participate in multi-disciplinary meetings where appropriate.
