An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a 1.0 WTE (Part-time applications will also be considered), 12 months' fixed term (or secondment for internal applicants) Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychological Practitioner to join our Maternity Trauma and Loss Care (M-TLC) Service.
The service is aimed at supporting women and birthing people who are affected by pregnancy loss, still birth, neonatal loss, as well as birth trauma, and those who have a fear of childbirth (tokophobia). The service has been developed in conjunction with Experts by Experience drawing on the invaluable input of women and families locally who have faced maternity trauma and loss. It is intended to provide targeted care and support to those whose needs would not be well met in other services (e.g. Perinatal Mental Health Services or IAPT) but have significant emotional and mental health difficulties related to the maternity experience. The service offers women a combination of psychological therapy and specialist midwifery input.
The post holder will be a part of an MDT with dedicated psychological practitioners, midwives and peer support workers. They will provide trauma informed assessments and evidence-based interventions to women presenting to the service.
