We are seeking to recruit an energetic, flexible and enthusiastic practitioner in the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team based at The Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury. The successful candidate will join the team in providing 24 hour rapid response and assessment of mental health crisis in the community, with the possibility of offering acute psychiatric care at service user's homes or other community facilities, until the crisis is resolved. The team covers the geographical area of Shropshire and is based close to the inpatient facility.
The Band 6 post holder will plan implement and review a periods of home treatment to safely avoid hospital admission using Occupational Therapy assessments, interventions and outcome measures to promote independent living skills supporting recovery, support the band 5 rotational role, provideclinical leadership and at times, as part of a rota, lead the shift co-ordination.
The Trust also has a robust Allied Health Profession governance structure which supports professional development

To provide clinical leadership and clinical expertise in the Crisis/ Home treatment Service in Telford, contributing to the delivery of effective, governance driven Occupational Therapy assessments and person centred interventions that support Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Service delivery. The post holder, working as part of a multidisciplinary team, will focus on supporting the delivery of Home treatment and use a range of approaches, assessment tools and outcome measures, to assess occupational performance and deliver interventions that promote independent living skills to support recovery.

There is an expectation that all clinical work is underpinned by theoretical and technical knowledge, and practical experience gained from a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy and other relevant training. Clinical service delivery will incorporate a range of graded therapeutic interventions using occupational performance to address skill deficits enabling the Service User in areas of self-maintenance, productivity and leisure. Clinical service delivery, using a range of assessment tools, interventions and outcome measures, will take in the community and in the inpatient unit working closely with service users, carers and families, community mental health teams, specialist services.
