An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Health and Safety team. We are looking to recruit an experienced Health and Safety Adviser - Environmental with knowledge in COSHH/environmental monitoring. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday.
This role will form an integral part of the Team and provide competent health and safety advice on all matters of health and safety to all levels of managers and employees within the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board as required, and promote high standards of health and safety for all employees across all areas of the Health Board.
The postholder will have already achieved a recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (e.g. NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, MSc. or BSc. in Occupational Health & Safety etc.).
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working within the field of health and safety. They will have experience of being actively involved in the development, delivery and implementation of all health and safety policies and procedures and they will help to oversee the day to day operational management of health and safety for the Health Board, whilst fully supporting all legislative compliance.

Main duties of the job
Provide specialist advice, training and support to staff on health and safety related issues and contribute to the wider risk management agenda.
To advise on compliance with statutory legislation in health and safety in liaison with the relevant enforcing authority.
Undertake environmental monitoring and provide occupational hygiene support and advice to the Health Board
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
