An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the nursing team on the Acute Medical Unit at Fairfield General Hospital with vacancy for Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse.

The Acute Medical Unit is a 50 bedded Unit consisting of a dedicated nursing, medical, pharmacy and allied health professional multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications / Experience

Essential

  • NMC registered
  • Substantial post registration


Desirable

  • Evidence of having undertaken relevant further study or training as required for the post
  • Recognised management or leadership qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience at Band 5 or Equivalent within specialty
  • Experience of managing a ward or department on a shift by shift basis


Skills/Knowledge

Essential

  • Good communication skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Evidence of the acquisition of relevant skills associated with the role
  • Willingness to undertake relevant further study as required for the post
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance and Health and Safety issues
