Full time Band 6 Nurses needed as part of the Blood, Cells and Cancer Division
Giraffe ward is a Haematology/Oncology ward that treat children from 0-12 years old. The unit provides a dynamic environment with opportunities to be involved in new research, chemotherapy and the care of children undergoing cancer treatments- such as high dose therapy, stem cell rescue and immunotherapy.
We are committed to professional development and offer extensive educational opportunities including study to degree and masters level.
Giraffe currently have several Band 6 opportunities. The job will entail promoting a positive attitude towards continuing improvements in patient care through research and evidence based practice and acting as a mentor to students. The wards promote staff development through challenges and daily support, with excellent opportunities to build upon your knowledge base practice and nursing skills.

- NMC Registered Nurse (appropriate to clinical speciality)
- Relevant nursing qualification
- Evidence of ongoing professional development relating to clinical speciality
- Assessor or practice supervisor qualification/experience
- Knowledge and understanding of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Experience of having worked with acute/chronically sick children or specialised transferable skills
- Understanding of professional and current issues in children's nursing
