An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, caring and compassionate individual to join our cardiac physiology team within the Cardiac Diagnostic Department at the Gateshead NHS Foundation Trust Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.
Applications are invited from patient focused individuals who would like the opportunity to work in a busy department performing specialist cardiac diagnostic investigations. Candidates should share in Gateshead's passion for patient-centred care.
The successful applicant will hold a BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology, Healthcare Science or equivalent, voluntary RCCP/ACHS registration and proven post-qualification experience in a range of diagnostic tests including cardiac catheterisation, permanent pacemaker implants, pulmonary function testing and Holter analysis as essential skills.
Gateshead NHS Trust will support further training for the successful candidate to meet the requirements of the department.
Main duties of the job
To participate in a broad spectrum of diagnostic Cardiology and pulmonary function investigations.
To work towards experience and expertise in at least one division of advanced measurement testing, participating in and facilitating the Department's multi-skilling process.
To assist in providing cardiac and pulmonary diagnostic tests.
To learn new skills and support the development of the service.
To contribute to the training and development of other members of the wider team acting as a role model delivering patient-centred and high quality care.
To support the department to meet National and local targets, working flexibly and dynamically where appropriate.

BSc Healthcare Science or Bsc (Hons) Clinical Physiology, or equivalent for this post is essential.
