We are seeking to recruit an energetic, flexible and enthusiastic practitioner in the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team based at The Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury. The successful candidate will join the team in providing 24 hour rapid response and assessment of mental health crisis in the community, with the possibility of offering acute psychiatric care at service user's homes or other community facilities, until the crisis is resolved. The team covers the geographical area of Shropshire and is based close to the inpatient facility.

Main duties of the job

We are a team that consists of Band 5 and 6 Nurses, Band 3 Support Workers, Non-Medical Prescribers, Medical Staff, Occupational Therapists, Administrators and Business Support Staff. As we work with people with all types of mental health presentations, we need to have a range of skills and interests that create a strong and responsive team.

The Trust also has a robust Allied Health Profession governance structure which supports professional development.

Communication skills are an integral part of the role. Written and verbal skills will be vital in ensuring that information is documented, shared and recorded in an accurate and prompt manner.

It is essential that you possess the skills to work as part of a team and have the confidence to work autonomously. You should possess the skills and enthusiasm to take on the challenge of a changing, modern day community mental health service. Having proficient IT skills and being a car driver are essential.

Job responsibilities

1. Working in an identified adult community mental health pathway, with the flexibility ofworking across pathways, dependent on skill and service need.2. Delivering a high quality clinical service to patients and their families.3. Care coordination of an identified caseload with access to regular and robustsupervision.4. Delivering occupational therapy interventions, in accordance with an agreed careplan, to an identified group of people experiencing mental health related difficulties.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Dip COT or degree in Occupational Therapy

  • Health And Care Professions Council Registered Occupational Therapist

  • Experience of formulating assessments, planning, co-ordinating and supporting adults experiencing mental health related difficulties


Desirable

  • Experience of integrating care delivery across multi-disciplinary /multi-agency teams
