We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Highly Specialist Nurse with extensive clinical and leadership experience to provide expert nursing care principally in Dermatological Surgery and the diagnosis and management of skin lesions as part of our multi-disciplinary skin cancer team.
The Trust provides secondary and intermediate care Dermatology services at several sites throughout Greater Manchester.Educated to or working towards an MSc, you will be able to provide evidence of both strong nursing leadership and clinical nursing skills. You will undertake independent surgical lists for the treatment and diagnosis of skin cancer. You will also assess new and follow up patients referred for skin cancer management as part of the multidisciplinary team.
You should be passionate about delivering and developing a high quality service to patients within the service and be driven by the desire to improve services. You will be given the full support of the senior nursing, medical and service teams and will be given the opportunity to continue your career development within the post.
Main duties of the job
The practitioner will deliver patient care on a daily basis. The Highly Specialist Nurse is a highly qualified practitioner who will assist in patient care within the multidisciplinary dermatology team within The Salford Dermatology Service working collaboratively and supporting other colleagues across the whole Trust.
They have will work alongside medical and nursing consultant colleagues sharing responsibility for the case management of their patients and for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies, procedures and maintaining associated records. They will support a team of nurses in the delivery of evidence based patient centred care, which is of the highest standard. They will provide specialist advice to patient's relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching. They will monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources. The post will provide clinical leadership and advice within the Salford Dermatology Service, enabling the service to develop further by providing expert advice, education and support to staff and enhanced clinical intervention.

- Evidence of extensive expert professional/clinical knowledge in surgery/theatre
- Experience and Evidence in delivering education at all levels.
