The Pathology IT team are growing, with the implementation of a new Laboratory Information Management System in the next year we need an experienced IT individual to join us as part of our expanded system.

Focused on Blood Sciences and based in Southampton, this role will look after the future of the service and manage the changes this will result in.

Job responsibilities

The role will be responsible for -

a) Management of the Laboratory Information Management Systemb) Management and Clinical Information analysis and reportingc) Clinical system support and testingd) Provide IT Support to users across the laboratory service
The successful candidate will have -
a) Great communication skillsb) Degree in IT/Informatics or equivalent knowledge/experiencec) Data analysis skills

Person Specification



  • Degree in IT/Informatics/equivalent or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Data confidentiality and associated regulations
  • Pathology Informatics


  • Certificate in Foundation Management
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management

Knowledge and experience


  • Knowledge of NHS patient based systems and the interaction between them
  • Data Quality and management


  • Clinical Governance
