Clinical psychologist holding appropriate postgraduate level professional qualifications, provides a highly specialist, psychology service that is cost-effective, culturally appropriate and based on best clinical and professional practice and that meets Trust and Directorate objectives, national strategic, and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations. To thereby help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve the mental health and wellbeing of people with post covid syndrome service users and their families.
Main duties of the job
Liaises with medics and professionals allied to members of MDT, qualified psychologists and assistant practitioners within the Directorate and across the Trust, members of other disciplines and professions responsible for the provision and evaluation of clinical care, research workers, first line operational managers and clinical team leaders, referral agencies, affiliated organisations, academic/educational and research departments, service users carers and others as relevant to this post.

- Professional knowledge acquired through degree
- Clinical Psychology Post Graduate Doctorate Qualification
- HCPC registered
- Eligible for Chartered status with the BPS
Experience

- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
- Post--doctoral training and recorded CPD experience and /or further qualifications in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
- Experience of working over many years (several episodes of care) with patients and families presenting with high levels of complexity and difficulty, including mental health needs associated with, chronic health difficulties, communication and relationship difficulties and emotional difficulties
- Experience of delivering potentially distressing information to parents/carers /families
