An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and dynamic nurse to join the senior nursing team on Ward 35. Ward 35 is a General Surgical ward specialising in ENT OMFS and Ophthalmology. The right person must have a passion and drive to provide high quality patient centred care. This is an exciting opportunity for a band 5 staff nurse looking too developing their career.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, is adaptable to ward changes during the pandemic, be able to work under pressure and maintain professionalism at all times. You will be expected to support the ward manager in ensuring ward KPIs, Model ward metrics, and STAQC standards are met on a daily basis. You will also deputise for the ward manager in their absence.

Main duties of the job

You will help support the ward manager in fundamental leadership qualities of running a busy surgical ward. Taking charge when on duty and ensuring the shift is running as it should. Dealing with any problems and challenges that arise.
