We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to work within the Estates & Facilities Division and as such we are looking to appoint a highly motivated and conscientious individual to work as a Minor Works Manager.
The post holder will be required to lead on, develop, design and manage schemes from inception/feasibility through to post project evaluation. This may involve designing schemes in house and the post holder should possess to skills and ability to manage external multi-disciplinary consultancy teams from within the construction industry as may be required within their remit.
The post holder will have excellent communication skills and be self-motivated, as well as having some experience working within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
To manage and advise with Health Board wide schemes. The delegated budgets for these schemes range from local projects costing several thousands of pounds up to major capital schemes costing millions of pounds.
To ensure compliance with Hospital Technical Memorandum (HTM), Health Building Notes (HBN), Building Regulations, Chartered Institute Building Services Engineers (C.I.B.S.E.) and all other statutory regulations that relate to the provision of building and engineering projects.
To carry out feasibility studies for strategic outline business cases where required within NHS buildings for all installations.
To manage and develop Initiative Schemes, with development of a strategic outline case frameworks, which will be tested against the public sector comparator/WAG guidelines.
To manage the development of the whole business case, working in conjunction with other Health Project Teams, which demonstrate improvements in quality and effectiveness of departmental patient services and are consistent with the Estates Strategy within the Health Board.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- A degree in a Building/Architectural discipline with significant post qualification experience.
- Professional knowledge equivalent to degree level gained in a Mechanical/Building discipline or a demonstrable record of work experience and achievement gained within the Construction Industry.
