Are you an experienced Nurse with an interest in Paediatric Oncology?
An opportunity has arisen to join our team providing a specialist nursing service to children with cancer and their families, within the Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit (POSCU) agreement at Colchester Hospital.
Contributing to servicedelivery, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will work as part of a multi-professional team, ensuring children with cancer and their families receive the highest standard of care and support.
Working across acute and community boundaries, you will provide early input of specialist care to children and their families, including rapid review, early intervention, rapid referral back to specialist team andearly discharge of children.
This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity until 8th July 2024
Main duties of the job
You will give advice and implement patient care in an area which requires specific clinical knowledge, skills and experience which will include the development of clinical guidelines, specialist protocols and education programmes.
You will be required to effectively manage and develop the oncology service and provide professional leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe, cost effective care of patients, families and staff. You will also be required to ensure a standard of care acceptable to the patient, their family and local/nationally agreed targets and standards.
