Following the expansion of our Integrated Community Children's Nursing Service, we are looking to appoint a highly skilled, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking Registered Children's Nurse with extensive experience in nursing children, preferably within the community setting.
Our established, passionate, and dedicated integrated Community Children's Nursing Service (iCCNS) works collaboratively with children, young people (CYP), families and the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe care is provided within the community wherever possible. We deliver high quality and holistic, child centred care to CYP who require nursing intervention, across Portsmouth and the South East Hampshire area with acute and long term conditions, complex needs, life-limiting and life-threatening illness, including CYP requiring palliative and end of life care.
You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and show the ability to operate as a team player, whilst having the initiative to work autonomously and effectively. You require good organisational skills, knowledge of safeguarding children and evidence of continued professional development and will be supported and encouraged to further develop your skills within the service. This post requires you to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to the use of a car.
Main duties of the job
As a registered Children's Nurse you will be working as part of the Integrated Children's Community Nursing Service. You will provide a holistic, family centred approach to care within the community for children with a range of acute and chronic conditions, including
The role will require working in community settings, educations settings and clinic settings alongside a vast multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will be required to following NMC guidelines, demonstrate autonomy and professional accountability and hold responsibility with support, for the management of a defined community nursing caseload.
Our service is a link between Primary, Secondary and Tertiary care, Community Paediatricians, Therapists, Public Health Nurses, Education settings, Children's Servicesand voluntary organisations to support and encourage the development of partnership working and a seamless patient journey. Care is delivered in the community location that is the most appropriate for that child or young person e.g. home, school, respite centre with an objective to help the children and young people achieve their full potential and live as full a life as possible.
