An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Acute Nurse with the main focus to help support and develop the nursing team on the Acute Assessment Unit.
You will work with the band 7 educator in acute medicine and alongside the Unit Managers. This is a new unit with upcoming opportunities which will require educational support across staff including the use of the Manchester triage system.

Main duties of the job
You will be working in all areas of the department and providing support. You will be required to support the development of clinical competence for the nursing team. You will work in line with agreed directorate and trust educational development strategies and priorities.
You will ensure the trust's training education and development priorities are delivered in a timely manner, be a strong role model and provide development, clinical supervision and advice for this staff group to support them in reaching their full potential.
You will also work with the band 7 educator and unit managers in order to educate support the development of the team.

Qualifications
Essential
- Appropriate NMC Registration
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing
- NMC recognised mentorship qualification or supervisor/assessor qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional education or development in area of speciality (Emergency Care).
- Triage Trained to Manchester Triage Standards
- Experience of working in Acute medicine for a minimum of 2yrs
Desirable
- Educational qualification e.g. award in education and training.
- Degree in nursing
- ALS
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Requires current up to date Acute medicine experience.
- Evidence of leadership experience and learning.
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.
- Experience in assessment and management of acutely unwell patients.
- Knowledge of management of the acutely unwell or injured patient within acute medicine
- Knowledge of clinical governance and safeguarding
Desirable
- Supervision experience within the clinical setting
